Originally opened as Jazzland in 2000, the park was purchased by Six Flags in 2002.

From Uncle Duke:
"We were at Jazzland for an ACE Conference in 2002 - the same weekend that Six Flags bought the park.

"It was very clean and new, with no asphalt anywhere in the park. Much of the park consisted of colorful concrete slabs raised above the wet ground on pilings.
