Santa's Workshop, Wilmington, NY and The Great Escape

I picked up the Seabreeze Park brochure yesterday, and once again it features the picture of me and Rick on The Jack Rabbit! Seabreeze Park has used this picture in their brochure for the past 5 years (2003-2007). The picture was taken in September 2002. The Jack Rabbit train was even painted black a few years ago, but they continue to use the old picture of us in the orange train in the park brochure!

I stopped at Seabreeze Park and Sylvan Beach on my way home from the latest ATRA event at Santa's Workshop in Wilmington, NY and The Great Escape in Lake George, NY. Duke and Lily were also there. I can't believe that we have never been to Santa's Workshop before for the credit! Santa's Sleigh Ride was my 798th roller coaster.

The Great Escape was hot and more crowded than we have ever seen. We made the best of it with some good rides on The Comet after 7 p.m., when the lines were short. Duke and I got stuck on the brake run on the last ride of the night, around 7:40 p.m.. We were evacuated because they could not find out the problem and the ride was shut down. The park closed at 8 p.m. anyway.

The Comet is still my #2 wooden roller coaster, and I have been on 146 different wood coasters.

This was my second visit to Sylvan Beach. It is a classis beachfront amusement park on the shore of Lake Oneida. The have a Galaxi roller coaster and a classic dark ride called Laffland. The also have a rare Rotor ride. Keep the small parks alive and visit Sylvan Beach Amusement Park!
